The Young Indomitable Lions will be aiming for a perfect start at the 2017 U17 AFCON games when they fight against Ghana on Sunday.
The Cameroonian team will be striving for a win to start their Group A crusade on a far above the ground and make sure that they mark in the U17 FIFA World Cup in India.
The junior global game is set to be played in India and a victory on Sunday may advance their chances.
The Young Indomitable Lions will be encouraged by their senior squad which won the 2017 AFCON early this year, but perceive the fight with Ghana will be not easy.
Likewise, Ghana’s Black Stars are also encouraged by getting in the tournament and will be fighting to make their country proud.
A place in the semi-finals will inspire the Black Starlets as they will be urged by their desire to be part of the World Cup in India.
Ghana’s coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin is saying he wants to log their mark in the World Cup by being victorious in their first two group matches.
Fabin stated that the past 10 years have not been remarkable for Ghana’s football, specifically at the U17 level since they have failed to be part of the World Cup, which so far was a common feature for the country.
Therefore, the main goal of Black Starlets is to qualify to the World Cup in India this year.
Fabin added that the management, coaching personnel and the players are wishing that they will ensure qualification by the second game in their group.
Coach Fabin said they want to qualify in a striking style and to attain it by the end of the first two games in order to lessen pressure in tackling the rest of the games.
The match between the two teams will be held on May 14, Sunday at the Stade de Franceville.
