Yaounde Cameroon is all set to host the Regional seminar on the ICC

Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa Oct. 3rd (news.cameroon-today.com) – A seminar on “Shared perspectives on the outlook and challenges of international criminal justice: the International Criminal Court and national courts” is being scheduled on October 4th at Yaounde Cameroon.


A regional training workshop on the subject “Shared perspectives on the outlook and challenges of international criminal justice: the International Criminal Court and national courts” is being conducted under the auspices of the International Criminal Court (ICC) with the support of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice of Cameroon, and is slated to be held between 4 and 8 October 2010.

The seminar which is intended to improve the understanding about the Courts authority, jurisdiction as well as to provide clearer insights on how it functions and the various activities that come under them.

The delegates consist of ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice, national bar associations and civil society organizations from eight countries: Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, The Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon and Rwanda.

These personalities will interact with experienced lawmakers and internationally proficient professionals adept in the nuances of international criminal justice system, its scope and organization, the core principles controlling its jurisdiction, and the privileges that can be exercised by the participants in its proceedings.

The seminar is also intended to fuel further communication and solidify a concrete network for knowledge sharing between the Court and the delegates with the aim of sustainability in interactions.

The International Criminal Court is the unique international court which has been incorporated with the intention of ending impunity for the criminals behind the serious issues that trouble the world like genocide, wars etc to take adequate measure to put an end to troubles ailing humanity.
