The Russian lawmakers held in custody two wizards from Cameroon under the charges of fraudulently taking money from people.

The two men who had publicly announced themselves as sorcerers were found to be fraudulent scamsters. The police on suspecting foul play arrested both of them on Thursday.

The two men, who called themselves as Ngosso Achille and Mbala Bardi, had taken money from people assuring them that they could using certain charms and a specific potion which had magical powers in it to convert $35,000 into $105,000.

They were deep in discussions with one of their so called clients when the police zeroed in on them and took them into custody. The name of this client has not been made public as yet.

The police spokesperson was amused and said with a smile on his face that the magical liquid contained nothing dangerous and on chemical testing was found to contain just harmless ingredients like iodine, talcum powder and some aerated drink that was causing it to bubble.

They used to have a colored towel with which they would cover the cash and then chant some weird chants wherein the money would have multiplied. Police believe that the frauds used their own money to perform these miracles to convince their clients and knew no magic whatsoever. They would show these tricks to the clients win their confidence take the money or “orders” from them promising to multiply it and then fly with the cash.

Though they do not have specific figures the policemen who probed the case believe that they have scammed quite a few numbers of Russians.

An industrialist from the North Caucasus city of Pyatigorsk had intimated the police earlier this year about a similar rip-off also involving a “magical liquid.”
