United Kingdom UK Company, World Report International Limited Projects Cameroon’s Potentials

Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) -The United Kingdom (UK) company, “World Report International Limited”, in supplement produced for the “Independent”, on July 15, 2011 declares “Cameroon the roaring lion of Central Africa”.

In the introduction of the 16-page supplement entitled, “Long –standing political stability”, excepts of President Paul Biya’s 2011 New Year message read, “Today, we are a nation, a great nation, a nation united, proud of its cultural and linguistic diversity, which is its wealth. A nation that looks to the future with confidence”.

The document with attractive coloured pictures contains pertinent quotations from Cameroon senior government officials such as the Head of State, Paul Biya, the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang some members of government, as well as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron and the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Bharat Joshi.

The supplement presents Cameroon’s political, economic, social and tourism wealth and potentials that make the country stand tall as the roaring lion of the turbulent Central African Sub-region.

Cameroon’s political stability traced from the German colonisation, Cameroon as the League of Nation’s mandated Territory, UN Trustee Territory, independence in 1960, reunification in 1961, unification and the re-introduction of multi-party democracy and the deepening of democratic culture put the country in an ideal position.

The document x-rays efforts at fighting corruption, ensuring good governance and transparency.

Finance Minister Essimi Menye presents efforts at diversifying the economy by stating, “ We’re focusing on diversifying and promoting non-oil sectors and we believe there is great potential yet to be tapped on”.

The Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa presents the sector as the backbone of the economy, stating measures to improve the business environment and speed up the process of creating enterprises.

The central page of the supplement projects Cameroon’s agricultural potentials. Energy and Water Resources Minister Michael Ngako Tomdio presents the country’s ambition to be Central Africa’s powerhouse through ongoing and yet to start energy supply projects.

First Lady, Chantal Biya who is UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Education and Social Inclusion is hailed for her humanitarian gestures to alleviate the plight of women, children, the poor and disable people in society. Cameroon and United Kingdom cooperation is also saluted.

“ We are committed to not only making the UK- Cameroon as strong a relationship as possible, but also to helping Cameroon on its journey to being the best country that it can be”, High Commissioner Bharat Joshi declares.
