Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – Sime Darb Bhd is still considering their plans for expansion in Cameroon.
Conglomerate, Sime Darby Bhd, who had previously refuted all rumors that indicated that they were musing about expansion in Cameroon, now claims that they are still on the lookout for feasible prospects at potential areas in Cameroon amounting to a total area of at least 300,000 hectares to expand its plantation landbank.
However, there has been no confirmed news of any deals or agreements being finalized or abouth anything solid having come out for the time being, said the company in a press release issued to Bursa Malaysia early today.
Sime Darby said it would not delay making any announcement about any deals that are finalized and when it considers it appropriate for such deals to be made open.
Press reports released recently indicated that the company was mulling about an investment worth RM7.5 billion in a 300,000 hectare palm oil plantation in Cameroon.
