Sharia law according to the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, will be established among the radicals in Cameroon, Benin, Nigeria, Mali, Niger and Chad who have expressed their allegiance to ISIS (an Islamic State group).
A 27-minute video presented by Boho Haram was shown on Friday by local media wherein the militant group seems to let viwers see the missing Chibok girls. The said video came as Cameroon reported that it had rescued 5,000 hostages last week from Boko Haram during an operation near the border between Cameroon and Nigeria.
Shekau in the video stated that the President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, was telling lies when he declared that Cameroon had killed 60 of Boko Haram soldiers, rescued 20 children and 5,000 people. Shekau claimed that the militant group is still very strong in Nigeria and that they are responsible for the suicide bombings in state of Borno and city of Maiduguri.
The military of Nigeria claimed at different instances that it had killed Shekau. But, each time, Boko Haram will release a video with a man claiming to be Shakau and insist that the deadly group is intact as ever.
Apparently, Cameroon in its newest declaration alleged that it had killed 60 members of the Boko Haram and had wiped out their hideout near the border between Cameroon and Nigeria. Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary of the Communications Ministry declared the said event during a news conference. Later, he clarified that the 5,000 people were rescued during an operation within the territory of Cameroon wherein the hostages could not leave their villages.
Thousands of people have been killed and over two million have been forced to flee from their homes since the militant group made their attacks in 2009.
Boko Haram wanted to impose Sharia Law to highly populated countries in Africa. The newest video was shown with the logo of ISIS and Shekau’s declaration of his allegiance to ISIS which Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of ISIS, accepted in order to expand the spread of ISIS worldwide.
