Basigi Predicts Ghana’s Victory for 2018 Women’s Afcon

Yussif Basigi, Ghana’s coach stated that his ladies team will win the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in 2018 with all the needed support.

Ghana is set to host for the first time ever the competition, having joined in almost all the championship games since the beginning of the tournament.

The Black Queens finished third at the just concluded gathering in Cameroon after losing to the hosts during the semi-final.

Basigi told Starr FM that he has taken a tip from the hosting of the games by Cameroon.

He further said that he was not surprised that Cameroon got to the finals because they were more prepared than them and it showed in their games against Cameroon.

Basigi will be looking for home-based players ahead of Afcon because the invitation for the players will not be automatic.

Ghana have been always been a finalist for three times, having lost to Nigeria in 1998, 2002, and 2006.

The 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations is set as the qualifier for the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup which is to be hosted by France.
