Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – Mauritius experts who had worked with Cameroonians authorities during their mission in the country from October 30 to November 4, 2011, want the centre for the creation of enterprises to be computerized and endowed with an internal network , equipment and software to enable it function well.
The experts in a report presented during a press conference in Cameroon’s political capital, Yaounde on Friday, November 4, 2011 recommended the rationalization of procedures through a manual which will be strictly applied by all stakeholders.
“All the stakeholders in the process are already in place but the chain simply needs to be refined”, said the leader of the Mauritius mission, Chinien Divanandum during the press conference in Yaounde.
“Cameroon must computerize the system, more specifically the data base to enable all information to be got on the spot”, she said.
Cameroon has one stop shop for the creation of enterprises and the time taken to create an enterprise at moment is 72 hours (three day).
This could be reduced to 24 hours should the Mauritius experience be applied.
The experts noted that the system of creating enterprises in Cameroon is still manual.
“A study that involves officials of the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft and potential entrepreneurs, needs to be carried out taking into account its applicability, materials, implementation, use and capacity-building”, Chinien Divanandum recommended.
Cameroon’s Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Cameroon, Raul Mateus Paula were present at the press conference.
