Leonard Kweuke, a Cameroonian international made the fifth and sixth strikes in Turkey but was missed out to Gabon 2017 from his country’s team.
While Cameroon made a middling opening performance at the Africa Cup of Nations, missed out Kweuke was making tremendous scores to make Rizespor win over Alanyaspor in the Super Lig on Saturday.
The now Turkish-based Cameroonian striker scored big as his team moved to victory on Saturday.
Rizespor is now back to their winning streak with the win, their first in 2017 Super Lig match. The team suffered defeat during the 2016 encounters.
The 29-year old striker who is also the captain of Karadeniz Atmac raced towards Ozgur Cek inch perfect through the ball in the second minute and kicked forward.
In the 34th minute, Dhurgham Ismail doubled the team’s lead and took the 2-0 gain to the interval.
During the 2nd half, Kweuke came back for the 3rd for Hikmet Karaman’s team and his 2nd of the day to make the score 3-0.
Alanyaspor tried to pull one back via Vagner Love who enter the game as a substitute and Glynor Plet also made their second home. But, it was much too late since Leonard Kweuke and his teammates hung on for the critical three points.
The strikes were Leonard Kweuke’s fifth and sixth of his move for promotion in 13 appearances.
However, regardless of Kweuke’s notable performance in Turkey, he still was not able to make it to Hugo Broo’s team for the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
But, having featured recently in the World Cup 2018 preliminary games, he may have the chance to return to the Indomitable Lions soon.
