Legend Starts Drilling Project In Cameroon
Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – Cameroon Mining: Legend Mining Company has started off with a drilling project on its iron ore targets at the Ngovoyang Project in Cameroon.
Legend has presently commenced drilling its iron ore targets at the Ngovoyang project in Cameroon. The project across an area of more than 2,000km2 and has got excellent connectivity what with being connected to an existing road, rail and port infrastructure. Legend is forecasting that Ngovoyang’s area, prospectivity and infrastructure gives it the strengths to be a “company maker”.
The company is edging closer to keying in on its major objective of transporting iron ore (DSO) directly from the Ngovayang project in the Cameroon.
Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) results have been able to offer proof for around 70.8% magnetite concentrate with low impurities from a preliminary 4 metre composite drill core sample.
Legend’s primary attention would be concentrated on securing mammoth tonnages of magnetite ore associated with magnetite containing gneiss.
A first phase drilling program at the Eseka prospect has been able to determine wide intercepts of around 86 metres of magnetite gneiss.
Mark Wilson, managing director, said “this project is shaping up as a potential magnetite province which confirms our early assessment of the aeromagnetic survey conducted last year.
“Our exploration challenge is now to build the largest possible magnetite resource.”
Legend said ground reconnaissance operations undertaken over the large aeromagnetic anomalies in the southern region of the project have also confirmed the sources of an outcrop of magnetite bearing gneiss within the footprint of the anomalies spanning over quite a huge area.
Legend Mining (ASX: LEG) is a cashed-up mining and exploration company with projects lined up in Cameroon and Western Australia. The company is focusing its exploration operations towards the discovery of iron ore, base metal and precious metal deposits.
Ngovayang comprises three granted exploration permits which not only has iron ore potential, but also gold.
A major benefit for the project is the proximity to infrastructure including rail and road networks to and from the port city of Douala.
This strategic location will greatly assist the exploration phases of work and potentially facilitate a start-up production transport system to port.
