Ambassador Iya Tidjani during Cameroon’s 44th National Day celebration in Riyadh mentioned that Cameroon is an important associate of Saudi Arabia in different fields and is positive about being a collaborator in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 plan.
The said celebration was attended by the governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Bandar and members of the diplomatic body.
Iya Tidjani was congratulated by Prince Faisal and the other officials of the embassy on the occasion and said his thanks for the invitation.
The theme of the celebration was “Defense and dynamic forces of the nation, standing together to fight terrorism and maintain peace and territorial integrity.”
The ambassador emphasized the outstanding ties binding Saudi Arabia and Cameroon, and reiterated his gratitude to the Kingdom, its leaders and the citizens of Saudi for the humanitarian assistance to Cameroon.
He said that the assistance enabled the country to hosts refugees who were victims of the terrorist group Boko Haram.
Iya Tidjani thanked the leadership of Saudi headed by King Salman. The said assistance is a proof of the solid friendship between Saudi and Cameroon and shows the excellent relationship.
Ambassador Tidjani also thanked Saudi Development Fund (SDF) for funding industrial and social projects in the country.
Another sign of the two countries’ friendship is the enrollment of 50 Cameroonians in Arabic and religious courses at the Saudi capital universities.
Conversely, Cameroon also has a growth development program until 2035 which requires foreign investors.
In that point in time, the ambassador invited Saudi businessmen to check the opportunities in Cameroon. The government of Cameroon offers customs, tax, financial and administrative incentives for investors.
