Thursday’s result – Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions 2 – 0 Ghana, Cameroon going to the Finals

Christian Bassogog and Michael Ngadeu netted in the second part of the game as Indomitable Lions defeated Ghana in Franceville this Thursday to position in the Finals of Africa Cup of Nations.
On the 72nd minute, a tie remained without any goal. When Razak Brimah, goalkeeper of Ghana missed to deal with a free-kick into his vicinity and the weak defensive header of John Boye simply served as a support to Ngadeu to take in charge and fire home.
Subsequently, Bassogog broke away to secure the win and ignite wild merriments as Hugo Broo’s team advance to the finals against Egypt on Sunday in Libreville.
After the Indomitable Lions lost to Egypt during the 2008 Cup, it will be the team’s first AFCON finals. That that time, the team also defeated Ghana during the semi-final game.
Ghana never has beaten the Indomitable Lions at the tournament. They will proceed to Port-Gentil for a play-off against Burkina Faso for the third place on Saturday.
2017 AFCON was the sixth consecutive semi-final of Ghana and their hope for their first trophy for this tournament since 1982 will continue.
Cameroon’s coach, Hugo Broos declared that he always had faith in his team. What the team has done was exceptional. He has been coaching for 29 years and he never had a team like Indomitable Lions before.
Finals are on February 5, Sunday at 20:00 local time with Cameroon versus Egypt.
