Yaounde, Cameroon, Africa. December 2010 (Cameroon News) – African Americans whose origin has been traced to Cameroon returned to their home country.

Alex Haley’s book Roots has been found to have motivated numerous African Americans to determine their genetic traces to the continent.
Ghana, Nigeria, The Gambia are the common areas to which these Afro-Americans waiting to come back home to their roots and home.
Wanting to tread the same path, around 50 African Americans have arrived at Cameroon- many of them have been DNA tested to prove that their roots are from the West African nation.

The visitors were given a warm welcome into their homeland as the residents of Cameroon welcomed them with open arms into the country where their ancestors had lived for ages.
