FILIPINO SAILOR FREED AFTER DAYS OF CAPTIVITY
Douala, Cameroon, Africa October 4th (News.cameroon-today.com) - A Filipino seafarer who was captive of the Bakassi Freedom Fighters finally tasted freedom when he was freed from captivity last week after long weeks of confinement.

The Filipino sea farer who was kidnapped from a Belgian owned dredging vessel was captured following an attack on the vessel by armed bandits on Sept 12th off the port Douala near the Cameroon Coast.
The Bakassi Freedom fighters who are a group of revolutionaries from the Bakassi Peninsula who claim to be fighting for freedom from the Cameroon Government had taken full responsibility for the attack.
Radio dzBB’s Denver Trinidad were the first to report the arrival of the freed sailor Wilson Nisda in Hong Kong this morning by the 11 o clock flight. He was welcomes with open arms by a large group comprising of his elated near and dear ones and relieved officials from Overseas Workers Welfare Association.
The final reports from the Department of External Affairs of Cameroon had indicated that the captive would be released from captivity by the 30th of Sept. Nisda and another Croatian colleague of his both faring the sea in a Belgian vessel Amerigo Vespucci were kidnapped on sept 12th. Nothing has been revealed` as to how the release of the captives were secured.
