The certificates which range from the Certificat d’Etudes Primaires, First School Leaving Certificate and the Teacher’s Grade I certificate were handed over today by the Minister of Basic Education Youssouf Hadidja Alim.

The delivery of the over 700,000 diplomas by the Minister of Basic Education Youssouf Hadidja Alim to young Cameroonians is coming after 24 years. The certificates include the said 600,000 certificates for the Francophone sub-system, 141,000 First School Leaving Certificates and over 28,000 Teacher Grade I Certificates. These are from the 2009 session to the 2011.

As to how authentic and secure these certificates are, the Deputy Managing Director of the printing company explains.

The security is about on the diploma itself and also by database where all the young people are inscribed. So it’s impossible to forge the diplomas with this security. We employed all the modern security for these diplomas so it is not possible today.

One of the laureates, Taka Aaron Anyam completed teacher training since 2009, he is overwhelmed with his diploma and compares it to a progress report card.

It is like I collected my report card today which is on my hand. So I’m actually very happy four years down memory lane that I have been teaching without a report card as I can say. So I’m more than the word happy.

The ceremony to deliver certificates after 24 years is proof of government’s resolve to maintain continuity for regular delivery of authentic and secure certificates at the end of every examination session by the regional delegations in the country.

One thousand seven hundred and sixteen graduates of the Advanced Teachers Training College (ENS) Yaoundé have just received their end of course certificates. The diploma awarding ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo.

It all started with the singing of the national anthem by the members of the choir of the Higher Teachers Training College (ENS), quickly followed, a presentation of the 51st batch of graduating students by the director of the college Nicolas Gabriel Andjiga. It’s a special batch he says given that it came 50 years since the creation of the school and at a time when teaching methods were being modernized.

We have a world with more computer and then the teachers have to – they have to adapt their teaching methods to these new systems, new environment.

Then came a musical interlude, after which followed a reflection on the theme The Teacher Learner of History Objective and Stakes. This was done by the head of History Department Prof. Salvador Eyezo’o who pointed out that history, apart from being the learning of our past and present, also plays an important role in unifying people and providing them of an identity and a sense of direction.

And when the Minister of Higher Education Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo took the floor, the ovation was impressive.

He congratulated the teachers but reminded them that their skills were needed most in the remotest of areas where children of 13 and 14 are ever yearning for knowledge and would satisfy…

Very happy. It wasn’t easy. So hard work, as you can see I was at 7th position.

But anxious thoughts.

Two long years as trainer years and of course we need to rejoice over the…

There’s a bit of anxiety when it comes to what is ahead, where people are going to posted and a place is going to rural at time at a remote places as the Minister of Higher Education was saying.

The teachers and their families immortalized to what they called a lifetime achievement.

Cameroon education – school students of Cameroon government schools in their uniform

Cameroon Education: 700,000 Certificat d’Etudes Primaires, First School Leaving Certificate and the Teacher’s Grade I certificate handed over today by the Minister of Basic Education Youssouf Hadidja Alim is a post from: News Cameroon-Today.com
Pin It

ELECAM board member Cecile Bomba Nkolo Appeals For Voting Spirits in Méfou-et-Afamba Division

Elections Cameroon

Featured

World News

Yaounde

Cecile Bomba Nkolo

elecam

ELECAM’s staff in the Méfou-et-Afamba Division of the Center Region had been urged to begin voting spirits to facilitate the biometric registration of voters when the exercise begins next month in the Division. ELECAM board member Cecile Bomba Nkolo Appeals For Voting Spirits in Méfou-et-Afamba Division Cameroon News
ELECAM board member Cecile Bomba Nkolo Appeals For Voting Spirits in Méfou-et-Afamba Division is a post from: News Cameroon-Today.com

Yaounde, Cameroon, Africa. (Cameroon News) - United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has sent words of congratulations to President Paul Biya on the final resolution of the Bakassi affair and his comprehensive management of the floods that have been hitting parts of Cameroon.

The message was transmitted to the head of state today by Mr. Ban KI-moon’s special representative in Central Africa Abu Musa during an audience with Mr. Biya at the Unity Palace today.

Here are some of the issues he discussed with President Biya during today’s audience.

My visit here this morning is much more of a courtesy visit to His Excellency the President of Cameroon. I did indicate that when I came into office last year I came around but the President was on a mission outside the country so it’s normal that I still come back to present my felicitations, my greetings on one hand for having contributed to the opening of my office because it has been so long 2002 to 2011 for the office and thanks to Cameroon and other countries in the sub-region that have militated for the opening of this office and then for which we have been given the mandate. So I took the opportunity to rapidly present the mandate of my office which is much of conflict relation, good offices and coordination.

I shared with him what I have been doing since my arrival but I think we took the opportunity also to talk about a number of issues which has been the Bakassi Peninsula. As we know this issue has now been brought to a complete end since the legal issues have been resolved. Nevertheless we need to look at the issue of the population around and that the United Nations is ready to support the government whichever we do want us to act.

….Mr. Abu Musa, United Nations Secretary General Special Representative in Central Africa.

United Nations Building.

Unity Palace Grants Audience To Mr. Ban KI-Moon’s Special Representative In Central Africa Abu Musa is a post from: News Cameroon-Today.com
Pin It

Peace And Security Concerns In The Central African Sub-Region With A Special Eye On Piracy In The Gulf Of Guinea

Featured

Government

Paul BIya

World News

Yaounde

Paul Biya

President Paul Biya

President Paul Biya and the visiting UN Special Representative in Central Africa Abu Musa have been reviewing peace and security concerns in the Central African sub-region with a special eye on piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. Peace And Security Concerns In The Central African Sub-Region With A Special Eye On Piracy In The Gulf Of Guinea Cameroon News
Peace And Security Concerns In The Central African Sub-Region With A Special Eye On Piracy In The Gulf Of Guinea is a post from: News Cameroon-Today.com

Yaounde, Cameroon, Africa. The team plays today in Kinshasa against the DR Congo and will run up will two other friendlies in Yaoundé next week.

Their intention is to win the trophy for the first time in eight participations but sports reporter Simon Lyonga says it will be real difficult looking at the caliber of teams to feature in the competition.

The African Women’s Championship has gradually gained steam and sparked excitement in the lovers of the game as the participating countries increased their interest in the competition.

It is true women’s football in Africa is still to be fully developed like that of their male brothers, the reason why the same names keep coming up for the final phase.

Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa alongside Cameroon have been regulars featuring in all seven editions which Nigeria and South Africa took turns to host.

Equatorial Guinea got into the dance in 2008 winning the competition to break the Super Eagles hegemony that was reinstated two years later in South Africa.

And it is to defend their title that the Nigerians will come to Equatorial Guinea this year to begin their campaign in Bata alongside Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and Ethiopia.

The Ethiopians are the group outsiders and will count on surprises, while the fight will certainly be tough between Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire as for a possible qualification ticket into round two alongside the Super Falcons, but besides this conclusions of bookmakers lay the realities on the ground with the Cameroonians who have been on almost all the fronts this year even beating the blue birds, the Nigerians on their way up. Revenge will therefore be looming in the atmosphere in Bata.

For Pool A teams, the Equatorial Guineans are once more expected to push their girls to higher heights as they prepare to take on South Africa, Senegal and the DR Congo. The Nzalangs are the group’s super favorites where there are rich constellations of star players handpicked from Cameroon, Nigeria, Spain, Brazil and Equatorial Guinea. With the DR Congo rising rapidly in the domain, the outsiders would be Teranga Lionesses who are expected to spring surprises also against their challengeable group mates.

As the countdown narrows therefore, the heartbeats become faster with the teams springing their final warm-up games. Perhaps the only regrettable absentee would be the Black Queens of Ghana pushed out of the race by the Lionesses of Cameroon.

The National Ladies Football team will today in Kinshasa play a friendly match against their counterparts of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The two-day meeting whose opening was chaired by the Minister of State In-Charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals Laurent Esso is holding under a general theme of the execution of the programmed budget.

The government in spite of the difficult economic situation has had to cough out money for some of the problems raised to be executed and one of such is to create and construct different structures to accelerate the judgment of criminals whose files should be tackled and rapidly too. This is where the Special Criminal Court comes to play, a court whose official inauguration took place yesterday, Monday October 15 and many other measures.

Therefore, the context of the holding of the annual meeting of heads of appeal courts in the country this day falls within the framework of great changes in their country’s judicial system. These changes can be seen in the creation of ten administrative courts and the appointment of magistrates, the creation of a legal documentation center to reinforce the capacities of its actors, the reconstruction of the judicial division of ENAM and the reorganization of the Ministry of Justice to enable it better fulfill its mission.

Holding under the theme Execution of the Budget Program, this meeting should help guide the appeal court heads in the utilization of funds at their disposal for the running of their services.

Some of the exposé given at the meeting include the signing of production warrants, relationship between the state council and the examining magistrates whereby the state councils can request the examining magistrates to detail investigations on a particular file, unannounced controls by police and gendarmerie by the state council and of course the treatment of sensitive files.

Paul BIya – President of Cameroon with Chantal & Ouattara of Ivory Coast

2012 session of the annual meeting of heads of all the appeal courts of Cameroon is a post from: News Cameroon-Today.com
Pin It

Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are intensifying preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship

African Ladies Football Championship

sport

World News

Yaounde

Indomitable Lionesses

lionesses

Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are intensifying preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship in Equatorial Guinea as from the 28th of this month Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are intensifying preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship Cameroon News
Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are intensifying preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship is a post from: News Cameroon-Today.com

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are intensifying preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship in Equatorial Guinea as from the 28th of this month. The girls have left the country for the Democratic Republic of Congo for a friendly game with the Congolese National Ladies Football Team.

Some coaches of from various sporting disciplines in the Central African sub-region have schooled on the various ways of preventing the use of drugs by athletes. This was during a one-day workshop today organized by the Cameroon Association for the Fight Against the Use of Drugs in Sports.

All the speakers and those present at the Yaoundé sports complex were unanimous that the use of blood stimulating substances in sports does not only destroy the objective of the game but also the athletes’ health in the long run.

Meanwhile, though measures are being sought everyday to discourage these practices, athletes always develop a way out by either using newly developed substances or at times those that cannot be traced easily. And what is shocking about this is the fact that they usually do so with the complicity of some of their coaches all in the name of winning at all costs, the reason why this seminar was organized to school the trainers on the dangers of such.

One of course facilitators had an exposé on a topic he entitled Coach True which he says will enable them attain their objectives by growing a generation that will play for pleasure and glory the right way and this he says can only be possible if the coaches decides to sensitize their athletes on the dangers of using drugs.

In the same light, the President of the Cameroon Association for the Fight Against the Use of Drugs in Sports proposed that such should even be a prerequisite for any selection as it will force the youngsters to abstain from such practices from their tender ages. Technology, he said, has evolved enabling them to detect hidden substances in the athletes’ system even substances that are still to be developed. He therefore called on the coaches to always keep the list of banned substances handy as well as a list of those being monitored to as to avoid any embarrassment. Initiatives though for now the cost of doing drug tests is still very high and takes so long for the results to be known.

Still in sports, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have left the country for the Democratic Republic of Congo where they will play against the Congolese National Ladies Football team. The friendly is part of preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship to take place in Equatorial Guinea from the 28th of October.

Before taking off for the DRC coach Enow Ngachu related the program of their training to our reporter Bennen Buma Gana.

We shall be playing against the Democratic Republic of Congo and later on the 21st we shall be playing against South Africa in Yaoundé and the 24th we shall play Ghana still in Yaoundé before leaving for Equatorial Guinea on the 25th precisely. However we are satisfied because we are working very well and it is true that for the first game, the first friendly match against the DRC who don’t have professional players. Because we think – also prove during the training camp that we can count on them……That was the coach of the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon Enow Ngachu.

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are intensifying preparations ahead of the African Ladies Football Championship in Equatorial Guinea as from the 28th of this month.
