Cameroon Health Crisis – Multilateral Initiative on Malaria Secretariat (MIMSEC) was set off at the University of Yaounde last week.
Cameroon maroua -As more and more people are being devoured by the biggest health disaster in many decades- cholera, the future citizens of Cameroon are being equipped to fight the deadly disease.
The cholera epidemic which started off this summer in Cameroon has taken over 2000 lives and affected at least 40,000 people over the regions of Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria. This outbreak which has a seriously high rate of incidence is now moving over to other parts of Central and western Africa at double the speed.
A spokesperson of the United Nations stated to the press today that so far 1879 cases have been reported dead in the cholera outbreak that has engulfed West African countries like Cameroon, Niger, Chad and Nigeria. Cameroon and Nigeria are the worst hit with almost 4200 reported cases in Cameroon alone.
The governor of the Southwest has organized a round table discussion on the prevention of catastrophe in the Region.
The round table held one day before the celebrations of the International Day for the Prevention of Catastrophe. Three heads of Regional Delegations have given talks on special aspects of the issue of catastrophe.
