At 28l.6 million barrels, the oil production of Cameroon from January to October this year is still the same as of last year’s according to SNH, a state oil company.
Since 1977, the Central African country has been pumping oil and has hit the highest point of 185,000 barrels per day 10 years later before dropping.
The Jan-Oct statistic represents a drop in comparison with the January to April period, when oil production was up almost 20 percent on last year. No reason was given by the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNL).
Due to decrease in consumption at the Kribi gas-fired power station, the gas production went down over 9 percent to 290.3 million cubic meters.
SNH said that Cameroon earned 266 billion CFA francs or $435 million during that period. ($1 = 612.2400 CFA francs)
