Joel Ludguo, a Cameroonian steward, was arrested for stabbing his employer to death due to unpaid salary on Tuesday at Park View Estate, Ikoya, Lagos.
The boss, Temidayo Adeleke, was reported to have just returned from USA, where she studies to prepare for her wedding on February. It was reported that the suspect who was a cleaner living with the victim on the said village, asked for the portion of his salary for December on Tuesday afternoon.
But, Adeleke asked Ludguo to wait till the next day because she ran out of Naira notes. However, Ludguo insisted to wait in the sitting room instead until the money is available.
Later he went to the kitchen and got a kitchen knife which he used to stab Adeleke on the chest.
Her call for help alerted other workers and was able to catch the fleeing Ludguo and contacted policemen who eventually arrested the suspect.
Per Vanguard, the relatives of the victim are mourning and would like to reserve their privacy.
One of the co-employees of Ludguo told reporters that the latter was claiming N 15,000, half of his salary for December in order to be with his family. Nobody really knew what has transpired, all they heard was the shout for help of their employer.
Abbah, an estate guard, revealed that the suspect is a drug addict and has been cautioned for his misbehaviours. The Lagos estate police public relations officer Badmus confirmed the incident and reported that the victim was confirmed dead at the st. Nicholas Hospital.
The suspect was transferred to the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence for further interrogation.
