CAMEROON SPORTS NEWS – NEW BOSS FOR TIKO UNITED
Tiko, Cameroon Africa. January 2011 (Cameroon News) – Justin Kamgue has taken over as the new coach of Tiko United, to coach the team for the club’s first division national championship.
Justin Kamgue got into his new job and took over his responsibilities on Wednesday morning at the office of one of the most prominent clubs located in the city of Tiko, in South West Cameroon. The new boss of the coaching staff has come in instead of Dominic Ayissi.
Dominic will now be second in charge form where he had been temporarily designated to take the place of the former Senior Coach Alain Wabo, who had passed away just prior to the start of the Championship D1 2010/2011.
During the course of his brief stint as Head Coach of Tiko United,Dominic Ayissi had mentored the team in seven matches, out of which they could win just one home match just before the 3rd day prior to the Panther’s Nde. From the remaining matches they champions could just secure four draws and three failures.
The dismal performances put in by the players of the club invariably placed the best team of Cameroon, 2009 at the 13th place which is the last but one position as the 8th day of the Championship draws to a close.
Justin Kamgue who had fitted the role of the fireman who cam in to save the Yong Sports Academy Bamenda, from going into the relegation zone will be asked to play a similar role as far as Tiko United is also concerned.
In addition to playing in the elite league, Tiko United will be also staring off its campaign in the preliminary matches which will decide who the competing teams will be from Africa for the Confederation Cup. Having secured the 3rd position in the D1 championship last season the players of Tiko United will now be battling against FC Diplomats in Bangui, the flagship of the Central African Republic.
But the new coach will be facing his first exam in the local game that is slated to take place on Sunday, January 16 at the 9th day of D1. That day, the coach will be mentoring his team to defeat Kamgue Yong sport, which he had been with previously.
Cameroon’s national championship had been kicked off just a couple of months ago, and Tiko United is the fifth team after Renaissance Ngoumou, Caiman Douala, Yaoundé SA Lausanne, Stars of Douala which is definitely a record one can be proud of.
