Buea, Cameroon Africa. December 2010 (Cameroon News) - Rumpi Project is estimated to cost around 6.2 Milliard and will start off by 2011.
The estimated cost is expected to cover completion of community projects in the South West Region. The amount of FCFA 6.285.140.000 will be deployed to finance Rumpi Area Participatory Development Projects which is slated for January to June 30th 2011.
The project which will be jointly funded by the African Development Bank (ADB) and the Cameroon government is expected to be completed by the end of the proposed schedule.
The budget had been cleared for perusal by the steering committee of the Rumpi Project which had convened its 11th session on 6th December at Chariot Hotel, Buea.
The Rumpi Project Community Development Adviser, Mrs. Tambo, has stated that the money will continue to be used for carrying out the projects.

The projects comprises of the constructions of small structures-community banks, halls, community medical centers, water projects, community education and action centers, and feeder roads.
The amenities at the grass root levels will be enhanced and concerned citizens educates by means of workshops, seminars and exchange programs that will be deployed exclusively for the purpose to enhance production.
Rumpi will sustain schemes that aim at improving seeds of maize, cassava cuttings and plantain suckers which will be provided to farmers in the area at the bare minimum rates.
The committee has arrived at the common decision that slashes would be made right at the source and the process of planting the seeds would continue like the way it is presently going on.
A manual that will provide adequate reference to the procedure for collection and distribution of planting materials, recovery and saving of proceeds in the seed fund would be set up for future use.

The plea for a seed fund audit to be carried out was adopted and this will guarantee that the money that is taken from the front line staff will be added into the seed fund account. The committee also sanctioned the request that the process of selection of the auditor for the nest accounting year be undertaken with immediate effect.
Governor Koumpa Issa of the South West Region, who headed the session, stated that adequate action be undertaken to guarantee that all decisions taken in the committee are implemented strictly so that the project is terminated without unnecessary delays and with total success.
