Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – President Paul Biya of Cameroon has ordered cabinet ministers in the new government of December 9, 2011 to draw up road maps for their respective ministries and forward to him within one and a half months, stating that the road maps must contained the targeted objectives, deadlines and subsequent needs in personnel.
Paul Biya chaired a ministerial meeting in Yaounde, December 15, 2011 on the heels of the commissioning of the new members of government into their functions by Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang.
He said the Prime Minister would have to transmit to him the road maps within 15 days with observations.
Once validated by the Presidency, he stated, the road maps will enter into force within six months and will be the step by step report on progress recorded, problems encountered with their reasons and reports have to be forwarded to him.
The instructions, he said must be respected to the later and added that by shortening the time for processing files, the country will be more performing.
He called on government to change working methods by being effective and fast, stating that once a decision is taken, it must be implemented without delay.
He stated the government has the obligation of results as the country benefits from factors such as climate, abundant natural and qualified human resources.
“Our problem is to valorise what depends on us”, Mr Biya said. He called in the government, administration and civil society to be mobilised to give the country the new impetus the population is waiting for with much focus in re-launching the economy, curbing unemployment, poverty and improving living conditions.
