Douala, Cameroon Africa. December 2010 (Cameroon News) - Douala police lay hands on Edea murderer.
A murder suspect is in police custody in Douala after escaping the police dragnet in Edea.
Sources say a man was slain over the weekend at Edea, Cameroon. The murder was carried out by one Herve, a hitman hired by the victim’s wife.
According to the story, their love live had gone bitter, and the only way to find solace was for 35 year old Solange to order that her husband be eliminated.
The victim went drinking with friends, but was attacked in the bushes leading to his home around 9pm. He screamed as he was stabbed.
Before neighbours could converge, Herve had taken off. A few minutes later, alerted policemen surrounded the area, and nabbed Herve.
He however, succeeded to skip from the police van into the dark of the night. His run was cut short when he escaped to Douala, and could not produce an ID card at a check point.
He was arrested for not having an identity card, but was later identified as the fugitive from Edea.
Meantime, desperate efforts to save the stabbed man back in Edea were futile. He died in transit to the hospital, and was immediately taken to the mortuary.
Herve is still giving out more details surrounding the macabre events.
