YAKADOUMA, CAMEROON AFRICA. DECEMBER 2010 (CAMEROON NEWS) - A company based out of South Korea has secured a license to set up a diamond mine in Cameroon.
A company that operates out of South Korea has secured license for mining diamonds from a mine located in one of the South Easter provinces of Cameroon.
A reliable source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, C&K Mining, a joint venture from Korea and Cameroon, was given the green signal from the government of Cameroon to develop the Mobilong mine which is located along the border that the country shares with the Central African Republic.
The mine is supposed to contain close to approximately 420 millions carats of diamond which will be almost double the amount of diamonds that the whole world produces.
The license for developing the mine is applicable till 2035 and will need to be renewed at the close of every ten years.
