Cameroon Leading in Africa Cup of Nations Group A Despite Guinea Bissau’s Amazing Solo Goal

Cameroon went up to top Group A leading the Africa Cup of Nations after a 2 to 1 win over Guinea Bissau.

The four time title holder of Nations Cup, Indomitable Lions, had to double their effort from a 1-0 down in order to safeguard the three points and come closer to the qualification. The coach for Cameroon intends to capture the title for 2017 AFCON.

The goal that Cameroon is trailing was amazing as Piqueti of Guinea Bissau hoisted the ball deep in his own half. He passed the ball over a rival before making a very fast run down the right side defence of Cameroon.

He then kept on running at the rival’s back line before bursting inside onto his right foot, scrutinizing the centre back and then going smoothly past the goalkeeper from a 12 yards distance.

Guinea Bissau was able to have a draw against Gabon, the host. But this time, they can’t hang on.
Cameroon recovered when Sebastian Siani was able to find the bottom corner with an outside shot from the box just after the time mark.

Twelve minutes from time, Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui also had an opportunity and got his mark to make it 2-1 and raised Cameroon up to four points from the two games.

Next game for Guinea Bissau is against Burkina Faso in their final game within their group. Cameroon will face Gabon, the host.

Burkina Faso and Gabon were in a match earlier. Gabon was straggling as Prejuce Nakoulma delivered the main long ball and defences before pushing in Burkina Faso’s opener.

However, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, star of Borussia Dortmund, won a penalty for Gabon after going down from Burkina’s keeper defence. He was able to level from the spot.

Both teams have two points from their two games and two points behind Cameroon, leading in the group.
