Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – The National Anti-corruption Commission (NACC) of Cameroon and the Central Service for the Prevention of Corruption in France, will share experiences and seek more efficient ways of fighting against corruption in both countries.
The Chairman of the National Anti-corruption Commission, Reverend Dieudonné Massi Gams and the representative of the Central Service for the Prevention of Corruption in France, François Badié signed a cooperation agreement in Yaoundé on December 13, 2011.
“The advantage of the agreement is for us to share our good practices, advice and experiences in relation to the culture of fighting against corruption at all levels”, François Badié said in an interview after the ceremony.
He said citizens and public stakeholders in both countries must have the consciousness of fighting corruption and as such take appropriate measures to fight the scourge.
The French institution will make observations, analysis and give practical methods of putting in place the best ways of fighting against corruption.
Reverend Dieudonné Massi Gams of Cameroon’s anti-corruption commission said the United Nations Convention on fighting against corruption makes provisions for inter-State cooperation.
The Central Service for the Prevention of Corruption in France was created in 1996, while the National Anti-corruption Commission of Cameroon was created in 2006.
He said Cameroon will benefit from the French experience, describing the cooperation agreement as the will of France to accompany Cameroon in the fight against corruption.
