Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. January 2011. (Cameroon News) - Cameroon is getting ready to impose bans of export of prime species of timber.

It is anticipated that Cameroon will once again start imposing export quotas on prime species of timber, the latest market report issued by the International Tropical Timber Organisation says.
However te country will continue to export lesser popular varieties of timber sans any restrictions and is expected to continue pretty much the same way.
Sawmills will now be expected to furnish reports as to what their capacity would be to process the volume of prime species of timber distributed in the country.
There are also rumors that Congo-Brazzaville may replicate Cameroons move to exercise an export ban.
Meanwhile, in Gabon there are assumptions by experts that the log export ban put in place in April 2010 may be loosened.
