Douala, Cameroon Africa. January 2011. (Cameroon News)  -  Cocoa Exports From Cameroon Africa Reaches 101,028 Tonnes In January 2011.

According to official statistics from Douala seaport, on January 09, 2011 Cocoa exports hit 101,028 tonnes from Cameroon’s Douala port since the start of the August season.

Cameroon is the five world Cocoa producer. Export for the week, reportedly was 3,640 tonnes compared to 5.045 tonnes from the previous week.

Cost-wise, prices dropped to 1,410FCFA per Kg compared to 1,450FCFA per Kg for the week before. Reportedly, South and Center region of Cameroon started the main harvest season much earlier than usual.
