Cameroon is banking on the success of the junior national team and are hoping that they will emerge victorious in their stint at the Fifa Under-20 World Cup scheduled to start off in Colombia on Friday.

After the dismal performances being show cased by their seniors, Cameroonians are now putting all their confidences on the team who had been almost the winner of the African U20 Youth Championships just a few months ago in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Last Saturday the Cameroon soccer officials announced the final list of 21 players who would be travelling to Colombia to represent the country in the biggest extravaganza in youth soccer.

Team coach Ndtoungou Mpile announced the names of the list as the team is undergoing their last leg of training in Venezuela.

The team will take a flight into Colombia on Tuesday, a couple of days before the tournament starts. The Cubs would have their first match against New Zealand before taking on Portugal in the second game.

They will close the first round in a game with South American giants, Uruguay. Though it offers a lot of visible challenges to the team in a very obvious tough first round for the squad, the coach have is totally sure of the caliber of his players and he hopes to get to the semifinal.

Cameroon will be participating in the tournament together with three other African representatives; Nigeria Egypt and Mali. Even though this is the sixth time that the team is taking part in the tournament, the junior lions are still to get any major honors.

With a lot of talents in the team and their brilliant show in South Africa, Cameroon fans are resting their hopes on the fact that the Cubs will showcase their very best.
