Cocoa exports from Cameroon’s major port in Douala reached 85,193 tonnes on December 19 which is the highest since the cocoa season started off in August, according to official numbers taken by Reuters on Tuesday.
The numbers from the world’s fifth-largest producer of the crop indicate that the volume of exports comprise of 8,340 tonnes for the week ended December 19, which is lower than the 8,730 tonnes that was exported the previous week.
The average price at the port for the week increased by a wee bi to 1,390 CFA francs per kilogram ($2.79) from 1,350 CFA.
