Preparations are underway in all the parishes of the diocese.

Even as the diocese celebrates 60 years, it is not the first ever catholic unit in the area.

The first seed of the gospel was planted in Bonjongo in 1894. The Buea diocese was created fifty six years after these events with Bishop Rogan as the first Bishop.

The diocese was later split into the Arch diocese of Bamenda, the diocese of Kumbo and the diocese of Mamfe.
