Yaounde, Cameroon Africa(Cameroon News) – Victoria Oil & Gas has announced that its flagship project in Cameroon, the Logbaba Gas Plant has been able to record positive progress.
Victoria Oil & Gas Plc, the AIM quoted oil and gas exploration and production company with projects in Cameroon and the FSU, has completed a contract with a Cameroon civil engineering contractor, Austin Maritime, for the civil engineering operations in the site and the pipeline trenching, jointing and installation at Douala.
The contractor started operation on 31 May and its offices, machinery and equipment are all ready in the worksite and the excavation operations have been ongoing since 11 June. The Company has also flagged off horizontal drilling and high density polyethylene pipe, jointing experts and a pipeline engineer from the UK are present in the construction site to monitor the operations. These experts will manage and guide the workforce from Austin Maritime in HDPE pipeline jointing, installation, testing and commissioning processes.
Pipeline installation is expected to be started before the last week of June and will be manned primarily by three construction teams and a horizontal drilling team who will synergize to finish fourteen horizontal sections.
The project schedule expects completion of 100 metres of pipeline per day although rates of up to 200 metres per day can also be targeted under conducive conditions. All the machinery that will be needed to deliver first gas to customers has been sent to Douala, either at the EXPRO site, (operators of the processing plant,) at the Douala Port or at VOG’s site at Logbaba.
