Yaounde, Cameroon Africa(Cameroon News) – Cameroon proposes to improve its Gold output by more than 70%.
Cameroon is intending to bring up its gold production by 70 percent in an attempt to ramp up the reserves it has at the Bank of Central African States, the Cameroon Tribune said, citing Lele L’afrique Tchoffo, governor of the East Region.
Improving the production of the precious metal will also positively benefit Cameroon’s special drawing rights at the International Monetary Fund, the Yaounde-based newspaper said.
Cameroon produces about 1,800 kilograms (57,870 troy ounces) of gold a year, as per the U.S. Geological Survey.
