CAMEROON AGRO-PASTORAL SHOW – EBOLOWA GETS READY FOR AGRIC JABOREE

EBOLOWA, CAMEROON, AFRICA. NOVEMBER 2010 (NEWS.CAMEROON-TODAY.COM) – Ebolowa is getting a radically different look as it gets ready to host the Agric Show that will see many big names of the Cameroon, Africa and the world visiting.

Ebolowa, the headquarters of the South Region is tuning itself up to host the 2010 national agro pastoral show. The town is presently getting itself a total image makeover it very much needs in order to ready itself to host the mega event.

There is mammoth building and infrastructure related operations happening all across the territory starting from the major entry into the town throughout the length of the agric show village right till the very tip of the airstrip. These construction operations are happening throughout the day and all night so that the region will look spic and span for the event whose deadline is fast approaching.

Huge sized building trucks, caterpillars, JCB’s and compressors are creating a din out there working round the clock, some entrenching into the mud, others carrying gravel from one point to another, and many more getting the road smooth and shiny before they are tarred to perfection.

The core projects are building a 15 km road that will stretch through the entire length of the town, the building of a three star hotel for the VIPs to stay in, an air strip, the agric show village itself and repair and maintenance of 50km road stretch and a numerous potholes that span across the town.

Sources who do not wish their name to be reveled have stated that the Head of the State would be residing at the Governor’s Residence and the same sources have also revealed that the building has been renovated totally in order to accommodate more and better facilities.

Crevices and edifices on secondary roads have all been filled up totally, foot paths renovated and road signs freshly painted and street lights have been put up to make sure that thee is total security.

The, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jean Kuete is spearheading the national organizing committee which has been set up to manage the multitude of projects.

The Vice PM has given precise instructions to every single person involved that the deadline for completion of all works is by 30th November which is a whole nine days before the extravaganza is scheduled to start off.

The various projects and construction operations have seen a lot of people flowing into the region and there has been a subsequent price hike of essential commodities and boarding places.
