Cameoon Banks To Offer Loans For Cotton Harvest

Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – Cameroon Banks to provide loans to Cotton farmers for facilitating 2011 cotton harvest.

Four banks in Cameroon will loan 6.5 billion CFA francs ($13.7 million) to the Cotton Development Corp. to fund farmers to purchase fertilizer and pesticides, according to a statement issued by the company.


Afriland First Bank will offer 2 billion francs, Societe Generale SA’s unit will loan 2 billion francs, Banque Internationale du Cameroun pour l’Epargne et le Credit will provide 1.5 billion francs and Commercial Bank Cameroon will offer 1 billion francs, said Iya Mohamed, general manager of the cotton corporation, in a statement issued to reporters today in Yaounde, the capital.
