Botswana Diamonds Starts Project In Cameroon
Yaounde, Cameroon Africa. (Cameroon News) – Botswana Diamonds have started work in Cameroon
AIM-listed diamond explorer Botswana Diamonds has kicked off a two-three month exploration work programme on its licence in the Cameroonian rainforests.
The work will determine the extent of the diamond bearing host rock that defines the nearly Mobilong diamond field. It comprises of geological mapping along with excavation of observation pits and the collecting of rock samples for detailed analysis.
The company said the regions is situated in a far off area of Cameroon and to get there the only way is to use the tracks that have been built by timber companies. The dense tropical rainforest is quite difficult to traverse through it added.
‘This is an early stage big potential high risk project. The licence area is 8,000 square kilometres but almost nothing is know about it due to its rainforest location,’ commented the company’s chairman John Teeling.
