The fish, which represented a total night’s catch for eleven fishermen, was dumped out of frustration according to some locals.

The eleven fishermen went fishing far from the coast in bad weather. One of them says they lost their bearings because of the intense fog.

In a frantic effort to find land, the fishermen, who were in two boats, found themselves several kilometers from Malabo, Equatorial Guinea when the flog cleared up a little.

They managed to escape the vigilance of the Equatorial Guinea forces of law and order, and headed back in the opposite direction.

It took them several hours to get a sense of direction in high tides. They eventually got back to Cameroonian waters, but discovered that the whole catch of fish was dead and had even started rotting.

A few of the stranded fishermen said they were getting out of the fishing business after the fishy events.
