Bamenda, Cameroon Africa. January 2011 (Cameroon News) - The people of Bamenda are all geared up to arrange the festivities to mark the occasion of the National Youth Day.
Bamenda, the headquarters of the North West Region is getting ready to convene the National Youth Day which will happen during February 3 and 4 this year.

The entire province will be rapt with colors to mark the grand occasion and to skip to the rhythm of programs that commemorate the inauguration of this year’s National Youth Day which will also be the 45th anniversary of the celebrations.
The detailed agenda was charted out yesterday January 4 in Yaounde by the committee who are responsible for the third preparatory meeting headed by Youth Affairs Minister, Adoum Garoua.
Programs to commemorate the inaugural ceremony will comprise of a meeting between the Minister of Youth Affairs and youth leaders wherein they will have discussions and debates on the spate of activities, projects and plans for the upcoming year.
There will also be a workshop to reveal the skills of the youth in the region and also a cultural extravaganza organized by the youngsters.
Adoum Garoua encouraged the commission ensures maximum participation of all stakeholders concerned in the organization of the event offering specific reference to the regional authorities.
Yet another important thing that was pointed out by the Minister in the meeting was the urgent requirement that the committee in charge of the activities also conduct an exhibition to guarantee that the grand festivities that mark the occasion obtain all the attention that it needs and deserves.

One of the major highlights of the operations includes mobilizing as many self employed youngsters as possible to participate in the activities related to the occasion.
The Minister also indicated the importance of organizing sports related activities like the wheel chair basket ball for the physically challenged youngsters, and the football tournament intended for youths aged between 15 and 35.
