African Champions and Nigeria’s qualifying rival in FIFA World Cup 2018, Indomitable Lions of Cameroon faces Colombia in an international game on June 13, Tuesday in Spain; reported by Sky Sports South America.
The international friendly takes place four days before the clash of Cameroon for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Yaoundé in opposition to Morocco.
The friendly game with Colombia will take place at the Getafe’s Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium. This encounter will be the fourth time that Colombia and Cameroon face each other and also a part of the preparation for the World Cup 2018 qualifier against Nigeria of Cameroon in August.
During the first clash with Colombia at the FIFA World Cup 1990 in Italy, Cameroon won 2-1 within the round of 16 to get to Africa’s initial quarter finals.
At the FIFA Confederation Cup 2003 in France, both teams played in the semi-final wherein Cameroon won 1-0.
The lone time Colombia triumphed over the African Champions was in a 2012 friendly game with a score of 3-0.
Cameroon will still participate in the qualifiers even if they are the host of the 2019 AFCON.
