2017 AFCON Gabon; Cameroon Manager Still Hopeful to Strengthen His Team

Hugo Broos, the football team coach of Cameroon revealed that he is still hopeful to advance his team for the major competition of African football, the African Cup of Nations beginning on the 14th of January in Gabon.

Cameroon coach stated that he still awaits the confirmation from Matip, star player of Liverpool, for his appearance in the 2017 AFCON. Take note that Joel Matip has been out since 2014 from his intercontinental obligation but Broos is still looking forward to for his return to the team.

In a press release, Hugo Broos mentioned that he is still expectant that Joel Matip, defender of Liverpool, will report for duty for AFCON 2017. The defender previously stated that he intends to focus on his career at Liverpool in spite of playing for his country’s team.

Despite Matip’s unavailability together with the other six players which include Allan Nyom of the West Bromwich Albion, the coach has utilised an assertive position with the players’ nonappearance.
